1. Pricing stores a fare

Pricing the itinerary creates a stored fare record (TST in Amadeus, price quote in Sabre, filed fare in Travelport+). Ticketing reads that record — no stored fare, no ticket.

2. Fare basis and rules

A fare basis such as MLXRT encodes the booking class and the rule set. Category 16 carries the change and refund penalties — always read it before promising a client anything.

3. Best buy is a rebooking tool

Best buy pricing does not just quote a cheaper fare — it rebooks the itinerary into the lower classes. Confirm the passenger accepts the more restrictive conditions first.
