What you do all day
- Check availability and sell segments for the route the customer asks for
- Build a complete PNR: names, segments, contact, ticketing arrangement
- Price the itinerary and explain the fare rules before the customer pays
- Issue the e-ticket and send the confirmation
- Handle void on the same day, refunds, and reissue after a date change
- Watch queues for schedule changes and airline messages
Skills they check
- Cryptic entries without hesitating
- Reading a fare rule and saying yes/no with a reason
- Accuracy on names and dates — one typo costs a reissue
- Calm phone and chat manner under time pressure
How to prepare
- Build 20 PNRs end to end in the GDS LAB terminal until you never look up a command
- Learn the full ticket life cycle: issue, void, refund, reissue — and the exact entry for each
- Memorise 60 airline codes and 60 airport codes on your main routes
- Practise explaining a non-refundable fare to an angry customer in one short sentence
- Take the exam here and keep the certificate PDF with your CV
Interview questions
- Build a CAI–LHR booking for two passengers on 20 SEP — say the entries out loud.
- The customer wants to cancel two hours after issue. What do you do and why?
- What is the difference between a void, a refund and a reissue?
- The fare shows a penalty of 100 USD for changes. Where did you read that?
- A name was misspelled after ticketing. Walk me through your fix.
